ZenScroll helps users build healthier digital habits by earning social media time through meditation and mindfulness activities. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your information.
By using ZenScroll, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Information in the Rebuilt App (Version 2.0 and Later)
No Email Signup
The rebuilt ZenScroll app for iOS and Android does not require a ZenScroll account, email signup, or password. Purchases use your Apple or Google store account.
Information Stored on Your Device
Your name, onboarding answers, optional profile photo, favourites, recently played sessions, meditation history, earned-time balance, streaks, app selections, and settings are stored locally on your device. The rebuilt app does not upload these profile and progress records to a ZenScroll account or sync them between devices. Removing the app or its data may remove this history.
Profile Photo
You may choose a photo using your device's photo picker or take a photo with the camera. The app stores a resized copy locally for your profile. Adding a photo is optional; it is not uploaded to our media library or RevenueCat.
Screen Time and Focus Permissions
On iOS, ZenScroll uses Apple's FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, and ManagedSettings technologies after you authorize access. On Android, optional usage access and display-over-other-apps permissions allow ZenScroll to identify selected foreground apps and show a focus screen when earned time is exhausted. An Android foreground service supports this monitoring.
App selections, usage timing, and earned-time calculations are processed on the device for the focus features you enable. These features do not read messages, browser history, search history, personal communications, or content viewed inside other apps. You can revoke permissions in your device settings.
Subscriptions and Purchase Information
RevenueCat processes purchase history, store transaction and receipt information, subscription status, an anonymous app-user identifier, and technical information such as app and operating-system versions. This supports purchase validation, Premium access, restoration, subscription management, and subscription analytics. We do not associate this anonymous identifier with your locally entered name or profile photo.
Apple or Google processes payments. ZenScroll does not receive or store your payment-card details. The rebuilt app does not include Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics and does not use advertising identifiers or advertising tracking.
Content Delivery and Website Requests
Cloudflare delivers the session catalogue, images, and audio; Vercel hosts our website. Requests to these services transmit ordinary network information, including your IP address and requested resource, as needed to deliver content and operate and protect the service. Website resources may also be requested from Google Fonts. This is separate from your locally stored meditation history and profile.
Support and Earlier Versions
If you contact support, we receive the contact information and message content you choose to provide. Earlier ZenScroll versions may have used account-based sign-in and storage. Removing the rebuilt app does not itself delete any earlier server-side account records; contact support@zenscrollapp.com for help with those records.
How We Use Information
We process information to provide meditation playback and focus features, validate and restore subscriptions, deliver content, provide reminders you enable, respond to support requests, maintain service reliability, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Profile and progress calculations in the rebuilt app take place on your device.
Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable under data protection laws, we process personal information based on:
- Your consent
- Performance of a contract with you
- Compliance with legal obligations
- Our legitimate interests in improving and operating ZenScroll
Subscriptions and Payments
ZenScroll offers subscriptions through Apple's App Store and Google Play. Payment and billing are handled by the store you use, and RevenueCat manages subscription access and restoration. ZenScroll does not store payment-card information.
Notifications
With your permission, the rebuilt app schedules local meditation reminders, weekly progress reminders, and eligible trial or subscription-ending reminders. You can change these preferences in the app and disable notifications in device settings.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
Service Providers
We may share information with trusted service providers that help us operate ZenScroll, including:
- RevenueCat
- Apple and Google store services
- Cloudflare and Vercel for content delivery and hosting
- Customer support providers
- Cloud infrastructure providers
These providers are contractually required to protect your information and may only use information as necessary to provide their services.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or when we believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect our rights
- Prevent fraud
- Protect users or the public
Business Transfers
If ZenScroll is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Data Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to:
- Provide ZenScroll services
- Administer subscriptions and respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Enforce agreements
Local Data and Deletion Requests
You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app or clearing its storage through your device settings. Device backups, if enabled, are controlled by your operating system and backup settings. Restoring purchases restores eligible subscription access, not local meditation history.
To request deletion of support, subscription-service, or earlier account records, contact support@zenscrollapp.com. We may need information to locate and verify the relevant records. Store purchase records are also subject to Apple or Google's retention and deletion policies.
Upon receiving a verified deletion request, personal information will be removed from active systems within 30 days unless retention is required by law. Backup copies may remain in secure backup systems for up to 90 days before permanent deletion. When information is no longer required, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable safeguards designed to protect personal information from:
- Unauthorized access
- Disclosure
- Alteration
- Destruction
However, no method of transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
ZenScroll is not intended for children under the age of 13, or the minimum age required by applicable law in the user's jurisdiction.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age.
If we learn that information has been collected from a child in violation of this policy, we will promptly delete it.
